The Corner of Carlow Street. is a play investigating the relationship between people and place and the memories and emotion that spaces capture. Set in the bedroom of an old Queenslander, on the actual corner of Carlow Street in West End, the episodic script investigates a spectrum of colonial ownership including building, renting, gentrified development and squatting between 1938 and the present day.
People and place are constantly interacting; relationships develop but only some are nurtured. 'The Corner of Carlow Street' explores this bestowment of value, both emotional and monetary, until just the memory remains.
